PHP!

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 18, 2007, 11:57 AM
A while back a friend of mine bought a website and he agreed to host me under a subdomain. I was, naturally, *really* happy to get my site off of freewebs and to shorted the URL.

I don't know PHP. Don't think I do... it was one of my best friends who wanted to learn PHP originally. Her intent was to learn it, teach me about it, and I'd teach her about HTML/CSS and she'd teach me about Javascript.

Yeah, right, like that was ever gonna happen. She basically disappeared off the internet for 6 months and here I was, left alone to teach myself about webdesigning and coding and all that other crap :)

But I never thought my host was pro-PHP...
Until of course I read a tutorial and actually tried to use php ;-;
And guess what? It is :D So I'm in a preppy mood.

Mmmkay. No need to say it quite so rudely. It's not like I'm stupid or anything.

Welcome to deviantART :) I am so glad that you could join us. If you have any questions about this site, go ahead and post a question on my profile page, I will do my best to help you out :)

Let me know when you post some art, I will check your stuff out.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

1.) To submit a deviation (a piece of art you have created) make sure that you are logged in. Next, make sure you are on your home page by clicking on your screen name in the upper left hand corner. You will see a link on the right side of the page that says "submit deviation", click on that link and then follow directions. Voila', your art is posted!

2.) You can "friend" artists that you like by "watching" them. When you watch a deviant (a fellow artist), deviantART will notify you everytime that they post a new piece of art. This fuction also helps you to make friends and gain watchers yourself.

3.) Deviant art is not only a place to post your art, it is also a community. We have forums, chat rooms, clubs, contests and many other interesting things to do. Forums and chat links can be found at the top of the page. Also, the "today" link will take you to a current events devianART page, you can find new deviants, popular deviants, recently commented-on art and many other things.

4.) Deviant art has much depth, don't be afraid to explore.

5.) Most of all, have fun!

Happy posting!
